A family from Derbyshire wanted a traditional kitchen in a deep blue for their old farmhouse in a lovely rural village. They knew from the start that they wanted a lush, rich dark blue and copper as the contrasting colour.
The client initially wanted copper worktops, but decided that although striking, this colour combination might not be suitable in a few years’ time so instead settled for copper splashbacks and a copper mixer tap, which would pair nicely with their copper pots & pans.
There are a number of original features in the house and they wanted the kitchen to blend into this.
The client chose our Aldbury grained doors as these can be painted any colour and they link in nicely with the classic style of the property. The natural wood grain of the kitchen doors marries well with the exposed ceiling joists.
The four ovens allow them to cook and entertain large groups for parties with friends and family gatherings and the two wine coolers flanking either side of the stools at the island make for a nice touch.
The breakfront hob section makes for a nice focal point between the two windows offering natural sources of light.
A pull-out larder beside the American style fridge freezer offers elegant and easy access to everyday staples such as dry foods, seasonings and condiments.
